ARGHLBLARGHL! Total lapse in site maintenance! NEW (half-assed) UPDATE as of 08/11/2015!!!
Check the Calendar! I've re-keyed the Calendar by very broad "areas" so that it's easier for readers to I.D. stuff nearer to them. But the important thing is that you can still look at it all in one big ugly calendar!

Welcome to the dark side. We have gloom-cookies!
Welcome to SFGothic.net! As your host, I, MisterMephisto, do my best to keep it up to date around here with info on the clubs, concerts, shows, performance art, ballroom events, and other miscellanea that is like to keep your grim little heart amused if you happen to be a dark-sider living in the greater San Francisco Bay Area (even out to Sacramento, San Jose, and Santa Cruz).
I mostly focus on things of a Gothic, Industrial, Pagan, and/or Neo-Victorian-esque nature, but I like to throw in bits of other randomness from time to time (whatever the hell strikes my fancy, really). So whether it's Rocky Horror Picture Show, a night at the circus, gothic fusion bellydance, a classical ballroom dance, a pagan festival, a concert by a favorite band, or one of the many goth club nights in the area, I want you to know about it, so that you have the opportunity take part in and support the things that I like to take part in as well.
When I decided to get back into "the scene" back in 2010, I realized that it was often quite difficult to find out what was going on, and when and where it was happening; especially as I live 40 minutes outside San Francisco proper. I would find out about a concert by a favorite band that I absolutely would have wanted to go see a week or two after said concert had already happened! Or I'd go to one of my regular haunts, only to find out that a favorite DJ was spinning at a new goth-night somewhere else that same night - somewhere closer to where I live!
So I started compiling all the little bits of data I'd get when I did go out; picking up fliers and talking to some of the promoters and DJs. Then I started making a habit of hitting all the "regular" club and venue websites and getting on mailing lists. And I started piling all that ill-gotten knowledge on a website, so that others wouldn't have to work as hard as I did just to know about things they'd like to know about.
And that's the real goal here: if you're having trouble finding places to go, people to see, or things to do, SFGothic.net aims to be your portal and guide to all things awesome in the darkling community.
So welcome to the dark side; whether you're visiting for the first time, just getting back from a hiatus, or have been here dancing in the shadows all along.
